Jon Kabat-Zinn was one of the first teachers to bring mindfulness meditation to the mainstream and have it accepted as a useful clinical practice.  This book is a good introduction to general mindfulness meditation, not just as a treatment for anxiety. If you want to explore mindfulness further, this would be a good place to start.
