Books and Resources For Mindfulness
Attempting to manage your thoughts or get rid of worry, fear, and panic can leave you feeling frustrated and powerless. But you can take back your life from anxiety without changing your anxious thoughts and feelings. Mindfulness is a way of noticing and accepting what is – and the act of acceptance removes its power over you.

Jon Kabat-Zinn was one of the first teachers to bring mindfulness meditation to the mainstream and have it accepted as a useful clinical practice. This book is a good introduction to general mindfulness meditation, not just as a treatment for anxiety. If you want to explore mindfulness further, this would be a good place to start.
-Includes a complete CD with five guided mindfulness meditations by Jon Kabat-Zinn, selected from the audio program that inspired this book.
Comments from readers:
"Kabat-Zinn has a gift for explaining deep insights in ways that are logical and easy to grasp…."
"I highly recommend this book if you are at all interested in mindfulness meditation. It is a great starting book-- and a great book for returning to mindfulness if you've tried it before and it didn't stick. Even if you don't practice the meditations, which are provided on the companion CD at the back of the book, simply reading the text will calm your mind and help you breathe more easily." -5 stars
